Medication Management
Allison has extensive experience working with individuals facing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and substance use disorders. Allison attempts to reduce the number of medications a person takes by taking advantage of known medication side effects. Her clinical vision is to ensure that her office atmosphere is safe for clients and their families to experience their vulnerabilities while sharing their stories.
Therapy
Allison integrates cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal psychotherapy interventions in my practice. In an effort to target obsessive-compulsive disorder, Allison utilizes the evidence-based approach of exposure with response prevention (ERP). Additionally, she is an EMDRIA-trained therapist. EMDR, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on a negative memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (through eye movements, tapping, or vibrations).
Consultation
Sonder Psychiatric Services provides consultations for law enforcement agencies aiming to support the well-being of their officers and their families. Additionally, Sonder offers guidance to clinics that cannot add a psychiatric provider to their team but want to learn how to effectively treat patients with mental health concerns.
Mission Statement
To provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care that recognizes the complexity and dignity of each individual’s experience. Sonder Psychiatric Services is committed to improving mental health outcomes in the Madison community through accessible, collaborative care.
